Office Business Gateway (OBG)
 
The Office Business Gateway (OBG) enables users to access information out of the business application directly in Microsoft Office. This could be i.e. client and contact data out of a CRM-System, business management data out of an ERP-System and product specific data from CAD- and PDM-Systems. Beside the mere provision of information it is possible to execute actions with help of OBG.net in Microsoft Office programs respectively enterprise applications. Users have the possibility to take Microsoft Outlook dates out of OBG.net and charge them automatically with information. The approval of applications of leave, the activation of a contract or the installation of a Microsoft Office Share Point library can be realized by a user in OBG.net. With Office Business Gateway it is easier to support employees and their working habits, and existing enterprise resources can be used intensively. Advantages for your business are:

The scenario shows the support distribution-orientated workflows with help of OBG.net. Without using CRM-systems the employee can get information about the customer right out of Microsoft Office after receiving a customer inquiry per email. He gets immediate access to contact data, business and sales value, as well as former customer activities. Through integration of OBG.net with Microsoft Share Point Server 2007 the employee gets possibilities for central document filing and interaction with co-workers. This way he can file for example documents like the customer email in a Share Point-library or he can create a new customer activity. And with help of Workflow support he can process the information.
